42 Mile Crossing to Meningie
\nDistance: 87km
\nTotal distance: 2294km<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last night, I got the fright of my life a couple of times by the roos stomping. This morning, a small mouse crawls over the top of my tent. I could tell it\u2019s a mouse judging from the depression made by the legs as it walked over the fabric. Gave it a good punch to its belly! Don\u2019t worry, it survived and even made a few more attempt to crawl on my tent.<\/p>\n

Glad that I moved the tent into the shelter, it was crispy dry this morning despite the rain overnight. After saying goodbye to Dennis, I hit the road on a cool and refreshing atmosphere. About 20km later, I stopped at Salt Creek for toilet break and iced coffee. This is the only shop between Kingston SE and Meningie. The nice and cool weather soon turned into a slight drizzle. Made another stop at Jacks Point to watch pelicans but I can only see from far since I didn\u2019t carry a binocular. It started raining heavier about 30km to Meningie. Found a shelter and had a quick lunch before I raced off to Meningie. Took me only 1.5 hours which was great but I was soaking wet.<\/p>\n

A lengthy note about how toilet users should show their appreciation for the toilet facility (privately owned), I agree with this system too<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The coffee content in this was very little, but I think that tiny bit of caffeine gave me quite a bit of riding strength later on<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Took my lunch at this shelter before racing off to Meningie<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

At Meningie, I sat at the information bay to look for the caravan park for campsite but then I thought it\u2019s not worth the trouble to set up a tent under thus condition. Called up the park to enquire about their cabins. They have vacancy and it wasn’t too costly so I instantly booked myself in. I had a thought of continue riding for another 45km into Wellington so that I can head straight into Adelaide tomorrow but the traffic was getting heavier, and it doesn\u2019t look like the rain was going to stop soon. The caravan park I\u2019m staying now sits next to Lake Albert. Pity its raining, or else it\u2019ll make a good scenery. Spent the rest of my evening watching TV and planning my route into metro Adelaide for the day after tomorrow.<\/p>\n
